In the Small, Small Pond by Denise Fleming Fleming's simple and bright illustrations are perfect for toddlers.  Her point-of-view is just like an inquisitive child, and she tells a story with only a few words per page.
Feathers for Lunch by Lois Ehlert Yum, yum, guess what's for lunch?  Cut-and-paste styled pictures with big printing, and a rather cute and mischievous cat.	Freight Train by Donald Crews A Caldecott winner credited as one of the first multi-cultural picture books for children, and there aren't even any people in it!  But you'll love the colors.
Sheep in a Jeep by Nancy Shaw An excellent rhyming book with the world's cutest, most mischievous sheep.  Guaranteed for a giggle.	Green Eggs and Ham by Dr. Seuss Do you still have it memorized from your own childhood?  I do, and I'll bet my parents do too.  Who can resist Sam-I-Am?
Amelia Bedelia by Peggy Parrish Just when children are mastering the English language and human logic, along comes Amedia Bedelia to confuse the issue.  If her logic is so impeccible, why does she get into so much trouble?  This is something every child relates to.	If you Give a Mouse a Cookie by Laura Joffe Numeroff A simple act of kindness becomes a nightmare of demands.  But who can resist either the logic or the charm?
Jeremy Fisher by Beatrix Potter Welcome to the world of Beatrix Potter, reigning high after all these years.  And if the stories alone weren't good enough, do you remember how perfectly sized these books are for little hands?	Harold and the Purple Crayon by Crockett Johnson One of my all-time favorites.  The things you can get into with a purple crayon!  And the things that purple crayon can get you out of, with a little imagination and a quick draw!
Draw Me a Star by Eric Carle Eric Carle's magical illustrations are as captivating as his sense of mystery and imagination.  Everyone needs a star in their life drawn by Eric Carle.	The Runaway Bunny by Margaret Wise Brown illustrated by Clement Hurd A timeless classic of  fantasy and maternal love: whatever or wherever Little Bunny imagines being or going, Mama Bunny will be there.
Drummer Hoff by Barbara  Emberley Nothing like a good refrain to keep the pages turning!  Caldeocott-winning illustrations are fanciful, and the book reads like an old familiar song.	Millions of Cats by Wanda Gag Wanda Gag knew how to write for squirming toddlers before the genre of picture books was well established.  Her books stand up to the test of time, too.
Arthur and the True Francine by Marc Brown A little familiarity with the television program might make the squirmiest of toddlers ready to sit still for a book!	A Tree is Nice by Janice May Udry A Caldecott winner and a familiar, simple poem.  Perfect for an afternoon read.
Angelina Ballerina by Helen Craig A modern favorite, with a nice accessible format and cheery message.	Best Word Book Ever by Richard Scarry Anything by Richard Scarry is a delight.  Children learn language, the building blocks of reading, and can spend hours creating their own fantasy worlds based on the book.
Hop Jump by Ellen Stoll Walsh Simple illustrations with great personality and depth.  And joy!	Squirrels by Brian Wildsmith A feast for the eyes, featuring the familiar in a whole new way.
Curious George Visits the Zoo by H.A. Rey Curious George designed for beginning readers! Each book is one adventure, with big print and simple vocabulary.
